Who we are

Marine Parts Search ("we", "us") is operated by Marine Parts Search LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Marine Parts Search is an invite-only tool for marine-industry professionals. Questions about privacy? Email privacy@marinepartssearch.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

• Account information you provide — your name, email, shop/business name, phone, and address.
• Operational data you create by using the Service — your searches, identified part numbers, quotes, and history.
• Information you enter about your customers — for example, boat records that may include an owner's name and registration. You control this data; we process it on your behalf to provide the Service, and you decide what to enter.
• Supplier credentials you choose to store so the Service can retrieve your account pricing. These are encrypted at rest and are never shown back to you or exposed through the interface.
• Security & audit logs needed to protect the Service — including your IP address and browser — and a record of your acceptance of our Terms.

We do not collect payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, or health information.

Cookies & local storage

We keep this simple: we use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for a login-only app to function. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we do not load any third-party trackers. Your browser also stores small preferences (such as your light/dark theme) in local storage, and our installable app caches non-personal app files so it works offline. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set its own security cookies at the edge to protect the Service from abuse. Because we use only strictly-necessary cookies, no cookie-consent banner is required.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate, secure, and improve the Service, to identify parts and retrieve pricing and availability for your searches, to communicate with you about your account, and to comply with our legal obligations. We never sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run the Service, under obligations of confidentiality and only as needed:

• Vultr — cloud hosting.
• Cloudflare — content delivery, TLS, and security/firewall.
• Anthropic and xAI — the AI that reads your part descriptions to identify part numbers.
• Google — sign-in (if you use Google to log in), and optional export to Google Sheets/Drive if you connect it.
• Email and SMS delivery providers — to send account and security messages.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

How we protect it

Each shop's data is isolated and encrypted at rest with a separate encryption key per tenant. Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), sign-in supports Google OAuth, and we apply access controls, rate limiting, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

How long we keep it

We keep account and operational data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period as required for security, recordkeeping, and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete data associated with your account, subject to those limits.

Your choices

You can manage which non-essential emails you receive from your account's email preferences. Essential account and security messages are always sent. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or ask us to close your account, by emailing privacy@marinepartssearch.com.

Children

The Service is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
